Try to find a studio that has a beginning class for teens and/or adults so you are not put in a class with a bunch of 7 year olds. If you are athletic at tennis, you are probably really strong so you'll be great at ballet. Go for it!

if you really want it, it wont be difficult.

just make sure you are in the right level,

talk to the director and see which class your dance ability is.

they would know the best.
You have to be dedicated. Since you are a teen, they will start pretty hard on you, because you can handle it better then a 5 year old starting off ballet. You have to be willing to do what they tell u. You have to have strong confidence abotu yoruself, because those mirrors in the studio can make you tear yoruself inside alot. If you really want to, and if you want to because you want the joy and passion, and exaustion, of ballet, not beause you want the excersize, or you need some cross training for tennis, Then go out there, and dance your heart out.
Of course you can! Lots of studios have teen beginner classes. For future reference, make sure to search YA before you ask a common question, because we get this question about once every 5 hours. =)
It probably wouldn't be if you don't play like, all the time. But ya you should start with ballet because it's the easiest and the basic form of dance. Where do you take tennis? Cause they arn't only in studios. They can be in like, community centers and stuff. I started in a university.
