You see, I LOVE pointe but to do that you have to be good at ballet... but then again, jazz is great dance and helps improve your flexibility. I have been in tap before and it is very good for your ankles and I love the little tappity rythem. I can only get in ONE class! Please tell me your opinions =)

Ballet, Jazz, or Tap? HELP!?tickets

It really depends on the level you want to achieve.

Pointe work looks really pretty and graceful, but it takes a long time to achieve it. Ballet requires a lot of time, effort and an enormous amount of commitment. Also, you have to make sure you have a good start in ballet. Research on the schools that you are considering. Having a bad start in ballet means that you will develop bad habits, which is much more difficult to unlearn. You want to study under good teachers so that your learning is progressive. Ballet is all about technique and form, so it is very important that you get the basics down very well.

However, while many dance forms may use ballet as a background, in other dance forms, knowing ballet may be a hindrance rather than an advantage. Hip Hop, for instance, requires sharp movements that many ballet dancers cannot capture because their bodies are used to moving in a certain way. Even in Jazz, which usually requires more movement and a turned-in leg, Ballet can sometimes contradict the ideal form of some movements.

Jazz takes a lesser amount of time to make it look good on your body because it follows the natural form of the body more than Ballet. It is easier to dance Jazz in more occasions rather than ballet. Jazz is usually danced on bare feet or jazz sneakers. Although there is an ideal kind of floor for dancing jazz, it isn't as picky as dancing ballet, wherein you need just the right amount of friction and softness of the floor (no dancing on cement). Also, jazz music is more upbeat and expressive in a more free way. Ballet can be expressive too, but only to the point allowable by technique. There is more variety in teh movement of jazz in a sense that it could be used in contemporary dance, or in adagio (slow, expressive dance), or MTV jazz dancing.

Tap is an interesting dance form especially since it is reminiscent of a great Hollywood era. Because you would be among a few who know how to dance tap, you would most likely be the one who will get solos in school talent shows and the like

At the end of the day, you still decide what kind of dance form you want to get into, but remember that dance is still dance, and just because you decide to take one form of dance, doesn't mean that it can't be applicable to other forms. :)

Oh well...you can choose a dance that you really want to explore. Try something new...something different than what you have learnt. In my opinion Jazz will be a great dance to learn. Try Jazz! Good Luck!
It depends on your personality. If you like fast music and moving quickly with lots of fun moves and expressions, then jazz is the way to go. If you like show tunes, lots of noise and stamping your feet, then head for tap. Ballet is beautiful and graceful and looks very pretty once it has been put together, but pointe shoes are harder then they look. Once you get the hang of them, pointe shoes are AWESOME! Enjoy dancing!!!

I think that ballet is the base of all other dance forms. If you can take ballet DO IT! Later in life you will be better able to pick up other dance forms.

I think you should take jazz. I've been taking jazz for 3 years now and I love it. It's so fun!!
i prefer ballet ,with ballet u make your body beauty flexible and also be a good dancer

see this video for ballet http://www.myvideo.disappointingeducatio...
I would really reccomend jazz because it is the best for you to do since it's more fun and a mix of ballet and hip-hop, so you don't need ballet! You got it already!
ballet would probably be best

:]

once you can do ballet it's easier to master everything else
I would suggest taking ballet first because it is the foundation of all other types of dance. It will be very challenging to catch on to any thing else without a ballet foundation.
